flaxseed's Journal, 18 March 2010

So far this has been another OK week. I'm off to Nottingham this morning for my weekend of 'Lucy sitting'. I'm going by train so I'll have 4 hours to sit and chill and enjoy the scenery. Weather which has been sunny if a bit chilly for the last 10 days or so is forecast to take a nosedive from today. Just hope its better farther south. I've been maintaining quite well just recently but need to make a concerted effort when I get back to get those numbers going down again. I've learned quite a bit from these weeks that I've been bobbing up and down within a 4 lb range. I know now that when I finally get to where I want to be, that I can maintain it.

OH is not too happy that I'm going, but I've left him well provided for and as an ex army man he's quite capable when he puts his mindto it.

I can hear that train whistle blowing, so have a good day and an even better weekend.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip! Nottingham sounds so exotic to me... like I'm reading Robin Hood! OH will be fine - he'll just be missing your wonderful company and appreciate you all the more when you get back. :)

Enjoy your Lucy time!!! I've been to Nottingham once!!! Let's see ... I am currently nearly 52 years old ... I believe I was either 11 or 13 ... so that is about 40 years ago??? I bet it has changed. Even then I remember my father getting confused in traffic and yelling out the window 'blow it out your ear'!!! LOL!!! I'm sure OH will be fine ... this is probably the 'medicine' that you most need!!! Have fun!!

Travelling by train... It reminds me France! I used to take the train all the time there, it was cheaper and safer than driving long hours on the highway. And I loved this relaxing time, watching the country and wondering what village was here or there... Have fun this weekend!

Long ago I read the reference in you profile about "living in the sticks" and don't ask me why, but I always pictured you as an Aussie, living on a sheep ranch in the Australian outback. (I don't know, something about flax I suppose.) Did you ever read the book The Thornbirds, or see the (at least in America) TV movie with Richard Chamberlain? That's where I pictured you. But Scotland?! ...now I'll need help re-shaping my mental image of you to fit reality. Hope you have a great trip...although I thought it would be Sydney or Melbourne, not Nottingham! (LOL!!) Have fun!!

I misunderstood. I thought your daughter is a survivor of Ovarian cancer. I will have to change something in my journal today. Take care. MUCH LOVE.

You must live close to the train station. ;-) I remember the Sherwood Forest but not much of Nottingham. Have a good trip flaxseed.
