This is my 5th day of the Dukan diet and I am down 6.7 lbs. I am very pleased with the results but it is really taking a toll on my body. Yesterday was my first day of the Cruise phase so I was allowed vegetables, but today is the second, meaning I am back on pure protein. Kinda difficult. I woke up this morning at about 8 am and I couldn't hardly move. I went back to sleep for another 3 hours, woke up at 11 am to make my Oat Bran Gallette (I like to put a table spoon of the Non Fat Plain Greek Yogurt on top mixed with a bit of sugar subsitute and cinnamon in the morning, it fulfills my sweet cravings), and my roommate even noticed how shaky and ill I looked. I can't tell if it's the flu that's been going around my Conservatory, or if it's the actual diet. So I ate my Gallette in bed, drank a ton of water, and went back to sleep. I woke up again at around 3 pm, feeling significantly better, and had 4 small slices of lean brisket (hopefully, that's allowed as it was lean? I think it is...if I gain weight because of it, I'll be pretty upset), and am trying to get the energy to go boil an egg, and prepare my salmon steak for dinner tonight. I found this great recipe where you put a couple of slices of lemon beneath the salmon, add some garlic powder, fresh sea salt and cracked black pepper and a stem of thyme to the top, wrap it in foil and bake it for 40 minutes at 375 degrees, and it is super yummy. Thinking I'll have a bit of that tonight. Wish me luck, it's very hard to not resort to munching on donuts and fries and nachos and all of that crap that normal college students don't even think twice about eating, including my roommie.
