Yesterday was my first real running in a while, did about 3 miles on a concrete surface. Due to an injury to my achilles tendon I've been mostly walking. The heel held up pretty good, legs are slightly sore, probably from the hard surface. But feels good to get the heart rate up to peak, it's been some time since I pushed myself that hard.

Non diet or health related - got a notice yesterday that Comcast is raising prices again, so I'm seriously investigating either cutting cable TV completely or reducing services to basic limited services, which would be mainly local broadcast stations. Trying Sling TV out for 7 days free to check it out. I live in a mountainous area 45 to 50 miles from Wash. DC stations so I'm not sure if I can get adequate antenna reception, but I might try out one of the better quality outdoor extreme range antennas from Amazon. I can always return it if it doesn't work. Depending on what we end up doing savings would be $40 to $60 per month, that would be nice.

Right now I have basic standard service (not HD) from Comcast at $70/month, plus rental on 2 converter boxes, plus fees, plus Internet at $56.95. Total bill comes to $143. After Jan 1 prices/fees increase so it'll be $155/month. That's just too much, especially when we only watch a few of the channels. I need Internet but everything else is optional. So it's time to explore what the other options are. $15 a month is a great price!

The biggest hassle I had with leaving Comcast was the email. I had become so dependent on it. I'm glad I made the break.

Take care of that Achilles tendon. They take forever to heal up. I was a runner many, many moons ago - and once I started getting those (from not warming up properly), I eventually had to stop running. I tried to get back out too soon and it snapped again ... and again. It's the elliptical machine for me now. :O)
