julianne's Journal, 30 November 2016

I had a goal of 130 lbs and so from 148 lbs in Jun 2014, to 133 lbs Dec 2016, I feel it's good progress. But weight of 125 would be ideal so I feel I should continue on. Working in my favor is not having a huge appetite at the moment. I often have just coffee with half n half, toast, or cereal for breakfast, then the main meal about 1:00pm, and snack in evening. This saves so many calories. The big meal holds me over comfortably all day. I have a dessert at some point but my favorite is a Skinny Cow Salted Carmel Pretzel Chocolate bar. Ice cream novelty. I am so glad I discovered eating a main meal midday, I am rarely hungry. I should cut out the sugar, though, except the Skinny Cow! Then all would be perfect. So, maybe this is helpful for someone...my diet is anything within reason.

PS: Thought I would add, I discovered square dancing, and a whole new activity and friends opened up to me. It's amazing exercise, good for strength, balance, and makes your brain work too. I was sitting at home, literally, after loss of husband for almost a year. I certainly recommend square dancing and you don't need a partner. But whatever, get out and have fun!

Thank you for sharing your experience with "mid-day" eating. I've been trying this during the week but it is so weird for me. I try to hold off til around 2ish. I am so used to eating at night....

I enjoy the midday meal because I have the energy to cook then. In the evening, I'm tired and want something simple. But I too have found that I'm often not hungry at dinnertime. I'll have an Atkins shake to hold me over for the night. I start the day with all protein...eggs with bacon or sausage. Lunch is always meat and vegetables. Carbs are always a special treat...for instance, on Christmas, I'll have a small glass of OJ at breakfast. Keeping in mind of course that I'm human and mistakes happen! :)
