Hi everyone -
I have been researching and thinking about my high cholesterol for several days. I have been reading DR Mercola's website and the book The 8 week cholesterol cure. I have decided a few things. I will not take the statin at this time since I have many things I can do.

Modify food:
- Olive Oil and Bragg's apple cider vinegar based dressings
- Eat Oat bran
- Add avocados
- Incorporate Coconut Oil
- More egg whites vs eggs
- Increase fasting to 36 hour fasting which means: after 6 pm on day 1, 24 hours on day 2, after 12 PM on day 3

Supplements:
- Add No-flush Niacin protocol outlined in 8 week cholesterol cure
- Take Phytosterols before eating
- K2
- D3
- Krill Oil Omega-3s
- Change CoQ10 to Ubiquinol

Exercise:
More walking - 1 hour per day, which for me is about 2 miles. This is my lunch time walking and I need to force myself to do it even when the weather stinks

Also, I will eventually get some better lab tests to evaluate my cholesterol - the NMR Lipoprofile. I need to research this more b/c I don't know if it includes apoB and Lpa. Finally, lab test to check D3 level - 25(OH)D which is 25hyrdroxyvitamin test.

My goals is to make 100 pounds lost by April 1.

Well, I am going to get my bone broth ready for next week. It is going to be rough to say the least. As LeBron (and CHES) say: Are you committed or ARE YOU NOT?

Good grief I got off of facebook - deleted the app off of my phone - so that I didn't have to... Just kidding. I like your 36 Hour Fast, I might have to add that to my fasting rotation.

Please check out... https://authoritynutrition.com/phytosterols-good-or-bad/ Summary: Despite phytosterols leading to reduced cholesterol levels, many studies in both animals and humans suggest that they can increase the risk of heart attacks. Numerous observational studies in humans have linked high phytosterol intake with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease Even though many health authorities like the American Heart Association still recommend phytosterols to improve heart health, others disagree. For example, The German Drug Commission, France’s Food Standards Agency (ANSES) and UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) all recommend against the use of phytosterols for heart disease prevention High intake of phytosterols is claimed to be heart healthy, but the evidence suggests that they are more likely to cause heart disease, rather than prevent it. Although eating phytosterols from whole plant foods is fine, it is best to avoid phytosterol-enriched foods and supplements like the plague.

As your weight comes down with Paleo, your cholesterol will normalize. Jimmy Moore has a good book called Cholesterol Clarity. It's a good listen on Audible - Books on tape.
