Struggling today. Very sore. My poor collarbone has a giant lump and bruise from doing cleans yesterday. Also dealing with some knee pain on my left knee. Got a list of exercises and stretches to do to help from my trainer, just gotta remember to do them 2x a day.

Also have to take my boyfriend to the hospital after work, since he can’t be trusted to do it himself. Which is ridiculous, since he’s an EMT and should know better. He fell on some broken glass at work last week when a patient’s family member knocked him down, and his elbow is still crazy swollen. I’ll never understand why men just can’t go to the doctor.

Realized I was a bit low the past two days, so I need to remember to keep my calories up. Just haven’t been hungry with work stress and whatnot, but I know that when I under eat I’m just setting myself up for a binge. No bueno. Today shouldn’t be a problem though. Already made it to the box this morning because I have trivia night on Wednesdays, which means I need to budget in my two beers. Well, I don’t need to, but they keep me sane, lol!

And men think women are a mystery! I've decided they don't want to go to the Dr because that is admitting that they need help with something. It is so important for them to be in control and managing their jobs, family, and other aspects of life. This is the position our culture has put them in. It's okay for a woman to need help, but not a man. Glad I'm not a man!

Hi Notelaine - You sound like such and organized young lady! I think you are doing awesome. Just keep up the good work and don't let taking care of yourself get put as 2nd, 3rd, 4th priority because you know that sets you up for a binge. I hope you and BF feel better soon. Make a great day buddy!

I have been told to force myself to get enough protein every day. Some days it is difficult, but if you are weight training and also healing from damage you do need to keep up. Yay for beer!

Lol Rhontique! I think that's a very likely theory. He's definitely the kind of guy that refuses to ask for help.

Be careful at Crossfit - I met two people recently who injured themselves - I am not sure if they encourage going too heavy too soon or something but take your time with the progressive overload. My one friend said they seemed to encourage competition and she pushed herslef too hard too soon. Not criticizing - just don"t want to see you get hurt

Yea, I definitely don't want an injury. I'm just generally sore, and I know the knee pain is an aggravated old injury I got from running. It acts up when I do too much jumping or single-legged squats. Just got to give it time to heal and work on strengthening the surrounding muscles.

To give you a smile: I have to do an exercise to rehab my shoulder that involves holding a 2-pound weight and letting my arm hang down, then rotate my hips so that the arm holding the weight rotates. I now have to do these locked in the bathroom, because my dog Carson has taken offense to this procedure and dive bombs the weight in my hand.
