Hubby called from work - do I want to go out to lunch? You bet!! We went to a place called Pand Buffet - Chinese Buffet. I did not overeat, and did not eat a lot of fried stuff, kept mostly to dumplings (my fav), sushi, and some noodles. I did have 2 pieces of BBQ pork, and a tiny bit of chicken in some sauce. Tiny bit of dessert - 1 almond cookie, 1 sesame ball. Should be OK! What a nice surprise on a miserable rainy day! We will now have what I had planned for lunch, for dinner!

Sounds ok, the protein could have been better to fill you up without the carbs, you know? I don't know your diet, but lean meats are usually better (even WITH sauces) than too many carbs. But I love buffets. Sushi was a scrumptious choice! I am so glad you enjoyed!

It's funny, in 2007 I went on Atkins, and was obsessed with no carbs. I was very stringent keeping my carbs below 30g. I did lose a lot of weight, but the I couldn't lose anymore, no matter what I did. I ended up just giving up and eating what I wanted, and of course, gained it all back. This time I'm just counting calories, I eat a lot of carbs! But I'm still losing weight. Go figure!

There are a lot of carbs in things like fruits and vegetables, but they are very good for you too, and low calories as well. And you can have 1/2 a sweet potato, too for the vitamins. Some people on Atkins and LCHF swear by it, but sometimes people actually get deficiencies...and like you said-some people can't maintain it forever and gain it back after they stop.
