Feeling good today. I’ve been good about sticking to my pre-planned meals, so that’s excellent. I also got my new macros from my nutritionist, which were close to what I was already doing, but incorporates more carbs. Which I’m all for, lol. More fruit and complex carbs is always a happy thing. Made my workouts last night and this morning as well. My hands are just torn up though, ripped open a callous doing pull-ups this morning. Hoping they harden up a bit soon.

This weekend is going to be a challenge though. It’s my boyfriend’s birthday tomorrow, so tonight his dad and his dad’s girlfriend want to do dinner with us. Which, aside from the whole meeting-the-parents thing, is going to be a challenge, in regards to food. I know the restaurant we are going to, but I don’t know what price range they will be ordering in. I’ve been warned that his dad will insist on paying, so I guess we’ll see. Since it’s a Friday in Wisconsin, their cheap specials ($10-$14) are all variants of fried fish. The only “healthy” options on the menu are in the $30 range. So we’ll see. But I’d rather be polite and screw up my diet for an evening. Not the end of the world.

Then Saturday the boy wants to go to Illinois for shopping (at Bass Pro Shop of course…..) so there’s a breakfast on the road and a food court lunch. At least for dinner he wanted Mongolian stir-fry, so I know I can make that healthy. And I’ll be the sober driver for the bar festivities afterwards.

Regardless, this weekend will be a lesson in moderation, indulgences, and not giving up because things aren’t perfect.

I have found that I can work around pretty much any restaurant except Chinese. I haven't figured that one out yet. LOL Hopefully they will have a non-breaded fish option, but you can always just take the breading off. Most places have a nice salad option or grilled veggies that are in the lower price range. It took me a while to get past being self-conscious about asking for a special order, but now I am used to it. Most servers are very accommodating about substitutions and they are pretty used to the requests. If you do go off plan, just drink extra water and get right back on track the next day. Have a good time!

Thanks for the tips! I never even thought about asking for changes. I mean, if they have breaded shrimp they can surely do unbreaded, right?
