erikahollister's Journal, 26 September 2016

Last week I was adding veggies to address the sluggish digestion, killing my ketosis, then over the weekend I just dove in to no carbs barred. I didn't eat sweets, just fruits and veggies and rice. It was healthy food, just not my usual WOE. I felt hungry for that stuff.
But today I'm back on track with LCHF, -- did it right, and I feel more optimistic that I can regain my footing. I was worried that I'd just altogether lost my momentum. Now the trick is to get fat adapted again, because I blew my ketotic state. I made myself a little fiber pudding for desert: 2 TBS sour cream, 2 TBS Acacia fiber powder, a few drops each of stevia and vanilla - and it was delicious, while boosting my fiber for the day without having to eat a too many veggies. A new creamy desert that fits the requirements! not bad!
I worked hard in the garden at school and had good energy, so I'm hoping that I'm finding my way back to progress on the weight loss. I've been floundering!!!

Do you enjoy avocado? Tons of fiber which is partly why I eat one every day. Also if you have a Whole Foods near you, they sell flax crackers that are low carb and full of fiber - they are called "Flackers"

Erika, I have noticed this past week with the higher fiber intake that my satiety level has increased......with sufficient fiber I feel fuller faster and far longer, my alternate day fasting is easy peasey this week. I took Kes's suggestion tonight and tossed my flax/chia blend plus a handful of walnut halves on my salad and it was surprisingly tasty and much more satisifying. Towards the last few bites on my plate I was getting all of the "stop eating" signals and so I did. Still pleasantly full feeling several hours later.

Hi Erika. I do a similar pudding and add psyllium husk supplement to it. It gives me stacks of extra fiber and is almost net-carb free. It thickens as well. You need to blend it with the other stuff. But still drink a lot of water too.

Oh I also add protein powder to my fiber puddings for extra satiation. Not sure if that works with ketosis? It sure works for me.
