catherinedrew's Journal, 25 September 2016

I went to an antique show today. Walked a good distance and my hips started really hurting. Did not go out to lunch but had a big breakfast. Went home took a nap. My sleep is not any better yet. Went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 2;30 am and had 4 cups of coffee and two cigarettes. But i did only reach 85% of my RDI but still not eating healthy...I have to wait until the 1st to buy more healthy foods. I don't want to take my weight for a couple weeks or I will just get discouraged.

walking good, if you can't get healthy foods till the first , just try portion control and drink lots of water before and after meals. is there a gleaners program in your area or even warehouse type place where the stores donate fruit and vegetables that they are overstocked on. I am from Oregon and we have a lot of gleaner programs.

It sounds like you are making a big change in your eating and lifestyle. Take it slow, and you do need rest. I am taking a doctor-advised melatonin supplement (3mg) in the evening. It has really helped. Melatonin is available without doctor's prescription and it aids better quality sleep. Then I try to do coffees earlier in the day now. I used to awake all hours, hungry and pretty stressed! This change has helped. Drinking water and eating protein and veg helps too.

Oh, also, I load up my freezer with frozen vegetables. That is so easy and helpful. Scrambled eggs with vegies in them is my "best" go-to meal.
