ok, todays an ok day. Went to doc yesterday he wanted some blood work done, so got that done this morning. He also ordered an xray if needed. He said if it is covered by insurance (have Obama care) go ahead, if not wait until after the blood results, so I'll wait. Not sure if it is covered or not, but I would have to take off of work and go out of my way to get it and all that expense is not covered! He didn't seem overly concerned, just suggested I take some chondroitin supplement, so I'm starting that. I really like that he looks for natural alternatives rather than prescription meds.
ANYWAY, I didn't like that his scale weighs me more than mine and I told him so, lol. I said I weigh myself 1st thing in the morning in the 'buff' and asked if I should come in 1st thing and weigh then, he laughed (it was at 4pm). Oh well, I'm going by my scale not his!
Which is now at 158, gotta get it down to the 147 mark, then I will see the light at the end of the tunnel! OK, OK, I know some folks suggested I do more activity/exercising, but I don't like that and it is so hot and, and.....ok this weekend I'll dust off my bicycle again. I do feel so much better after a ride, or walk, or swim. Just during the week after work all I want to do is 'veg' and fall asleep in front of the TV. This evening I'm going to an OA meeting right after work so that will help motivate me. PLUS last night I was SUPER at the Italian social and also the bereavement group (after) with staying AWAY from the sweets. I did have a small tea sandwich but that was it and if you know Italians you know there was A LOT of tempting deserts there! BUT I was good. So now I have to stay good over this upcoming weekend. Next week I have a friend that is visiting for a couple weeks and she loves to go out to eat, so I have to get my strength up for that!

Eating out can be tough, but can be manageable with some planning. If you know the restaurants you will go to, go online and see if their menus are posted -- if yours isn't, pick a similar one. Then plan your meal and post it in the FS Food section so you can see the results of your choices, and adjust if necessary. Be realistic, and don't forget to allow yourself an occasional dessert or drink, if that's what you are are apt to do. Even if you don't stick to the plan exactly, you have a target. And if you go over at one meal, you can adjust later ones to balance. Good luck, and don't forget, you need to enjoy your life!!

Congrats on resisting all the treats at the social! I'm very proud of you! When your friend is there, go with Pandas' suggestion. It can really help!
