Painful weigh in. What a roller-coaster. At the beginning of the month I was losing fast, then flat lined, then went on a 5 day fat fast to break the plateau, then went on vacation, and lost all the progress! It's amazing that a 5 day vacation can put on 10 lbs! I didn't even eat that badly. It's due to a carb refeed, and regaining the water/glycogen. Spending time with my family of grown kids - I allowed myself to try to eat somewhat "normally", while still avoiding sugar and gluten. Hard to do! We were celebrating 4 birthdays, so I baked myself a substitute treat that was gluten and sugar free. It was pretty good, but I ate too much of it and the xylitol gave me indigestion for days! So, hardly "normal". I ate some gluten free crackers - rice based, but carbage! And once I'd done that, then I was wanting more carbs, so ate some veggie burgers. Well, suffice it to say, I'm glad to be home where I can get back to controlling my own food. I'll re-establish my fat - adaptation and get back on track to losing weight again. I want "normal" for me to be feeling in control and making progress toward better health and well-being. This month has been a yo-yo, which is not good, so I'm going to aim for a steady routine that I know works: LCHF: 20:4, Thanks for being here, buddies. It's great to have my FS community to come back to, get my feet on the ground and carry on!

We are going away for 4 days. Am nervous. Going to pack most of my meals, but know dinners will be a challenge. I am sure I will be like you...happy to be home when it is over!

Ya, I know the feeling. Went on a week cruise and gained 10 pounds. I didn't watch what I ate at all and had a great time. Hopped right back on when I got home and lost it all that week. You know how to do it so no worries! I am on my fat fast this week. I am on day 4 and will stop tomorrow night for supper. Steak and veggies. My mouth can't wait!

I hear ya Erika- it is hard to avoid temptation when you are on vaycay with family and it is challenging to try and stay on track when you are surrounded by temptation. You will get back into your norm and feel in control again soon. You know what you need to do to make progress, you have done it before :)

It's ok to splurge sometimes, sounds like you had a great time. Now your home, back on the diet and the weight will fall off. Don't feel bad.

I know exactly how you feel. Exactly. You'll lose lots of water over the next three days. It's hard to log such a big gain. It ruins the lovely downward flow of the weight graph.

Beer, BBQ, best friends, fun.... My man. You are on your way. Starting with today until Tuesday Sept 6th will be rough for me but I am focused on the down 50 and down 60 by years end. Keep it going RonT.

I think sometimes about that distant time when I hit goal and start to reintroduce more carbs. I think it'll be hard enough when I'm home, I know it'll be hard when I'm eating out. I hope you had fun on vacation, I know you'll get back under control.

I'll probably be right there with you when I get home. I have been trying really hard to stick to my plan but it's harder when away from home for extended days. I have to remind myself it is a vacation and supposed to be fun so not to stress quite so much. I am lucky in that my son started eating LC about a year ago so he now understands and tries to cook LC for me while I am visiting. That helps a lot. Once you are back in your routine you will feel better. Hang in there! You are so close!

Life happens! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back in the game! You know the rules and you will win.
