Magdalena003's Journal, 23 August 2016

Yesterday was one of my hardest days since I started. I've had some bumps along the way (such as not realizing that even a small amount of potatoes could mess me up), but I threw my calorie count to the wind and had the chicken wings I had been craving. I know that many don't bother with counting calories on LCHF, but I like to keep track of what I'm eating for a variety of reasons (which I wont go into because justification is unnecessary). Needless to say, I blew passed my 1200 intake goal (2202 for the day - yikes!). But I did work to meet my goal of a 1000 deficit. According to my fitbit tracker, I walked 12.54 miles (27,089 step) and burned 3,349 calories (including BMR). It was a lovely day for all of that walking, but I did have to pace around my house for almost 2 hours after I put the kiddies to bed. I thought for sure that my legs would be killing me today! I was a little sore when I awoke this morning, but I am fine now.

I did skip my strength and abs exercises, but I'm still trying to get into the routine of doing those daily. I was doing the 30 day shred (strength, cardio, and abs), but it proved to be too much for me (I collapsed 10 days in and thought I was having a heart attack - turned out to be costochondritis). So I switched to some strength exercises, a variety of crunches, and light cardio.

On the plus side, I had to attend an open house for kindergarten students yesterday (my twins are old enough to start school!) and I fit into a size 10 dress that I would not have been able to wear a month ago! Even with a 14lb loss, my clothes are starting to be a bit loose.

Without bumps along the way you wouldn't be moving forward. Good job and don't forget to rest those muscles every other day as the rest is how they repair and get stronger.

Isn't it nice being able to yak something out of the closet and it not be tight? I was able to put 10 shirts back into circulation recently. Way to go getting your wardrobe back!
