I really hate entering a gain. I was doing really good eating 1600 calories per day and drinking no alcohol. Then I had a big overnight party with my friends, drank way too much, ate way too much, then did it again Tuesday night. Maybe the weight I lost last time was just water, and drinking booze again rehydrated me by 3 pounds. It's so damn frustrating. I want to be smaller but I still want to drink and never be hungry.
193.0 lb Lost so far: 30.4 lb.    Still to go: 8.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 2.2 lb a week

Everything in moderation. You have to decide which is more important, and take action on it. No judgement either way. ;)

Alcohol will do it temporarily - drink you water and all will be well.

You know what got you to the point of wanting to be lighter and healthier. You need to decide what is most important to you. The reality about losing weight is having to make changes. Change is not always comfortable. It doesn't mean feeling deprived, you can simply cut your social drinking and eating in half. There are a lot of tips on how to eat less when going out. As for being hungry, it's not a bad thing to feel hunger. Just don't let it get so bad that it make you binge. You can try eating smaller, more frequent meals or fewer larger meals. Before eating make sure you are truly hungry and not emotional eating. Ultimately the choice is yours. Good luck!
