I have only been dieting a few days. Yesterday I ate hostess CHOCOLATE donettes. It is wayyyy to early for me to mess up like this. Today I am more motivated than ever. While on the atkins diet I find it hard to have energy while working out. This is why I mess up. How can I HAVE ENERGY WITHOUT CARBS???

We all slip up once in awhile but the key is not to give up! Just get right back in there and keep on going! I think it does help to eat smaller meals throughout the day, just don't skip meals. Maybe try to balance your protein with the good carbs, like chicken breast with a side of veggies, stir fry is a good option (low sodium soy sauce and very little olive oil), and there are lots of things you can do with beans. Protein will stick with you longer than the carbs and help you with your energy levels... but again, try not to skip meals!! I'm rooting for you- you can do this, you just have to find the thing that works best for you and I know you will!

Try to eat within an hour or two before your work out. And plan on foods that are rich in Omega 3 and higher in protein (think steak or salmon and broccoli or spinach). With working out you may also want to add some vitamins, just look for one without iron. Make sure you are getting enough water and since you are just starting you may want to add some chicken broth on the days you exercise. GL
