Ok. This is my first Journal entry here on fatsecret. I guess i should start out with the basics. I am a 33 year-old woman who is morbidly obese. I am married with a beautiful 4 year-old daughter, and I can honestly say that I want to be there to see her grow up. I made a pact with myself at the start of the year that I was going to turn my life around.

First off, I quit smoking in June. Then I went back to college in August. Now I am starting to lose the weight. I actually started in October, when I went to my Doctor and saw that I was 389lbs. Since I had quit smoking, I had put on 40lbs. I knew I had gained weight, but I didn't think that I had put on that much.

So I started counting my calories. I have almost lost 20lbs since I started. I didn't even know that this place was here until I downloaded the calorie counting app on my new Droid.

I really want to talk to someone who is in the same position that I am in, needing to lose over 200lbs, but for now, I'll try to find some inspiration in this journal.
