flaxseed's Journal, 23 October 2009

The expected gain wasn't too bad and its starting to come down again. The weather has been unusually kind this week. The weatherman has forecast rain and gales for the last 3 days, but we haven't had any. I managed to get my spring bulbs planted, but I'll have to get another bag as there weren't enough. The next job is to clean the inside of the car. I'm sure there are enough dog hairs in there to knit a jumper or at least enough for another dog! Even though we have a cover on the seat he manages to get it off, roll it into a ball and lie on it. The hairs are terrible to get off as they stick into the fabric. I've tried the vacuum, sticky rollers and rubber gloves but its still an awful job.

I've just watched a programme about what goes into sausages. Uugh - I'm just glad I don't eat them. With all that fat etc. and cereal no wonder they've got so many calories.

I went for my half yearly diabetic check and my blood results were spot on. Had my flu jab while I was there too. Also had eyes tested and photo taken of the back of my eyes to check for damage. I've apparently got 100% peripheral vision. No wonder OH says I've got eyes in the back of my head! I've had my feet checked for peripheral neuropathy - all this in the last week and all passed with flying colours. What could be better.

Have a good weekend everyone

Isn't it funny how we never have enough bulbs to plant?? At least I find that to be true 99% of the time....Great job keeping your blood levels in check! That is a great accomplishment!

Great news with all your health check-ups! Must be that wonderful, healthy lifestyle of yours! :) I can relate to the dog-hair clean-up. Cat hair is a tough clean-up, too. Let me know how the dog-hair jumper turns out! Will we be seeing them on eBay soon? :)

Hi flaxseed. Thanks for your kind comments on my journal. I'm glad to hear that you are well and that your tests came back fine. I don't think I've ever heard of 100% peripheral vision if I'm understanding that part correctly. That's certainly interesting. Your chart looks fantastic, congrats on the excellent work. I hope to be able to recover in a similar way shortly from my many excesses earlier this month. Take care...
