You could use a measuring tape and your clothes to see progress. The scale is always variable depending upon water, carbs, etc.

I can soooo relate! The morning of the 12 wk challenge, I weighed and had dropped a pound. WOE was fine. The next morning I gained that whole pound back! Today it's off again finally. I have till Monday to get another pound off! I refuse to eat less than 1000 calories a day. This is a life change for me, not a temporary diet. I do notice though, as HCB said, that I'm wearing my smaller clothes. So good advice! Check your measurements.

I've always liked watching that yo-yo go up and down haha! Must just be me. You are making great progress and those ups and downs are all part of that process, keep your head high you have come very far!

Relax. Just log the data and make sure the overall trend is downward.

This is why I restrict my weigh ins to once a week. Weight can fluctuate on a daily basis and it can be really depressing to work out, restrict calories and STILL see an increase the next day. I just don't want to flog myself over a few ounces on a daily basis. Over the course of a week, the ups and downs seem to average out and I am generally down on a week to week basis. Although I must admit that I look forward to my Wednesday afternoon weigh-in so that I may see my progress. Bottom line, everyone has to do what works for them, right? Hang in SingSweet - best of luck to you!

I can see where you are coming from about the daily weighing. But if I went a whole week and weighed in and didn't loose, I would be so upset. I would rather know day by day and make adjustments as needed.

Hang in there! I weigh everyday and get frustrated with any increase. I'd rather know than not know. The trick is not to get down on yourself and give up. Ups and downs are normal within a couple of pounds, of course everybody is different.
