Wow Moopie, you really outdid yourself! I understand that you probably did the pattern with flour crack coating, but how did you make the pattern itself on the bread? I would have never thought to make a pattern on the bread like that that is such an interesting idea. See my Mom braids bread and inlays it with seeds or does colors in her butter wash to decorate, but she's never done a flour coating pattern I'll have to show her the picture. She'll love doing that for festivals for pride or holidays it's gorgeous. You see unlike me she's very showy and grand, very decorative I'm afraid I'm a very basic cook; things taste good, but I'm not very showy.😂 🤷 I'm working on it now that the kids are getting a little older I'm able to do more. for example I'm now using my flower tips when I ice cakes doing a lot more decorative edges trying to plate more trying to be a little bit more fancy but of course I'm doing, nothing like Mom does. But I try! ^~ I'll get there one day 

Thanks everyone❣️ this past year was a great year for learning. @leah, I sprinkled rice flour on top then evened it out with my hands. You could use a lame to score the pattern in. I didn’t want to spend $20 on one, so I used single edge razor blades.  

Leah, does she braid the entire loaf or does she “skin” the top and braid that? Either way sounds like delicious art❣️ 

That is some beautiful loaves of bread!! Wonderful 

Mom typically braids the entire loaf just like you would braid hair. She makes really cool intricate designs braids and multibrated tiers and baskets and really cool stuff which makes it all the more tragic that I make such a basic bread hers taste delicious looks great she makes it look all cool and studded with seeds and berries and just like a piece of art mine looks like crud 🤷.
