This has been another challeging and stressful week but I think I have managed to sort things out. I have started to get a short walk in first thing in the morning before OH is awake and up. He doesn't miss me and it sets me up for the day. Things have really changed in the time I have not been out and about. Even though the weather is still good and we haven't had any rain the strength of the sun is very weak. Fields that were golden with corn and oats only a couple of weeks ago are now a rich chocolate brown after ploughing and seeding and there is an earthy smell in the air. Trees have got their autumn colours and it won't be long before there are bare branches. The house martins have left their nests and started their journey back to sunnier climates.

Diet wise things have been going well, except for the fact that I really miss bread. I have started adding some back into my diet, but I don't seem to lose weight so well with carbs in my diet even if they are good carbs. I seem to do best by sticking to fruit,veg and protein. Stress seems to affect my weight loss too, but I'll just have to learn to deal with things better.

Had a long heart to heart with OH. I felt hard and unsympathetic but expained that I can't be glued to him 24/7. He might be ill, but things are as under control as they can be and he is comfortable and pain free and not incapacitated apart from being unable to walk far. No-one knows how long things will stay like this but he should be making the most of things and enjoying his life, not mithering and being depressed. He has taken most of this on board but it was a hard thing to do and I felt terribly guilty. He does have a tendency to be a 'half empty' kind of person and can always see the worst.

We are going to visit daughter No 1's at Christmas and I must buckle down to my diet as I'd like to lose another 14 lbs before we go.

Thats my vent for this week. Tomorrow is a new week - Hope everyone has a good one

I just read your most recent entry ... then figured I missed something and read this!! Very nice that you'll be visiting Daughter #1 at Christmas ... gives you a goal to work on, doesn't it?! Funny ... my mom is one of 4 girls and they always referred to themselves as daughter #1, #2, #3, and #4!!! I understand about loving a man who sees the glass as half-empty ... my dear hubby is much the same way ... guess I have a long road ahead of me with his treatments!! At least I have a sympathetic ear to listen to me!!
