flaxseed's Journal, 14 June 2009

I seem to have been yo-yoing up and down with a couple of pounds between 1.5.6 and 106.6 for the past couple of weeks even though my diet has been good. This morning's weigh in shows me down a tiny bit to 105.3. Not a huge amount but at least its down.

Only 2 days to go before we set out for wedding. I'm getting excited now! Haven't quite achieved the target I set myself by this date, but what the heck. I am so pleased with the results I have achieved so far and I look so much better that I hope I will be able to keep going when its all over and not slowly backslide without a goal in mind. Must keep focused. I'm in uncharted territory at this weight and I keep noticing things about my body that have changed. There are bits of it I can see now that I haven't seen for 40 odd years!

Along with the wedding breakfast (and alcohol)and being away from home I'm going out to eat twice with people I haven't seen for a couple of years. The people from work should be impressed with the new me. I've googled the restaurants already and worked out what I'm going to eat. I hope I've got enough confidence to ask for exactly what I want. I'm realistic enough to know that I'll put on a little while I'm away but I'm determined to get back on track once I'm home again and also stay reasonably within guidelines while I'm away. I know that if I let things slide a little and I don't keep losing I'll think "Oh what the heck this is enough" and fall off the wagon.

My spare room is now tarted up to perfection ready for visitors who arrive one day after we get back. All achieved on a shoestring. 2nd hand chair, new cushion cover made from pillowcase in a bargain bin, basket with free sample toiletries and lots of elbow grease and sweat which cost nothing! Meals cooked or prepared and in freezer, so I'm feeling pleased with myself, fit and raring to go.

Weather is being kind, sunny and blueish skies with the occasionaly sharp shower. Well this is Scotland what can you expect? My Gran used to say that if there was enough blue in the sky in the morning to make a pair of cats trousers it would be sunny by lunchtime. So here's hoping. Have a good healthy eating day
