hoosier436's Journal, 03 June 2014

Ok, this journal entry is a "foolish one", what I am bout to say I am tempted, but WILL NOT BE DOING.. and I know that it will change in a day or even in a few hours or so... I am just giving you guys a heads up..Just needing to vent...

Right at this particular point of time, with the situation at work being stressful for me- and having "being ticked off royally with someone at work"-- I want to say "screw it all! Where in the heck is my comfort food- I want the little debbies, my "big Roger" sandwich, large fries, Large shake, ice cream- etc etc.. Why should I fight this weight, when it seems that I am fighting with things at work. I am tired of feeling like I am not measuring up, I am tired of life (No suicidal thoughts... just tired!), tired of being only a supervisor of a fast food joint, and I am 55 years old and dealing with employees that think that they are smarter than I am, and customers that feel like they can treat you like dirt- cause you are just a pile of worthless crap! Feeling like that I have to meet a certain standard at work, and yet NO ONE ELSE has too.. and then I get jumped on, if those standards are not met.. BUT NO ONE ELSE DOES!... Just tired.. feeling like the runner that just runs out of gas only a few yards away from the finish line, even though my finish line is miles away from where I am...
Will I throw in the towel.. no I am not.. but I am just pretty discouraged with circumstances surrounding me at the present moment... Just needing to vent..
On ward, forward...

Things will get better, try to stay positive and know you're better then those people who think they are above you. We all need to vent sometimes. Hope the rest of your week goes smoothly. Good Luck!!!!!!

We all need to vent. Emotions are emotions you can't really control how you feel, but you can control how you react. It seems like you got it! Hope things look up for you :)

So many people are in the same position and it seems like life is just throwing nothing but curves. The difference is that winners never quit and quitters never win. Be a winner - we're all pulling for you!!

Vent away, we're all ears. Just don't give in and don't give up. Throwing in the towel won't make anything better, won't change anything except make things even harder and then you'll just feel worse. Not trying to minimize what you're dealing with, just trying to help you focus on the longer term view. Hang in there!

I am a retail manager so I know exactly how you feel. Hang in there and try to find at least one thing about your job that you like. Even one person -- customer or employee -- that makes you smile when you see them. That's what I do to get through when I'm feeling down. I had a customer give one of my employees a $100 tip on Monday and it has made my week. It's possible that person is loaded and it was nothing to them to drop $100 like that, but I doubt it -- most people that tip big are middle class and have had to work similar jobs themselves at some point. There are still good people in the world. :)
