Weight up a fraction today but that could be the salt I had yesterday. I'm still being very boring and sticking closely to my eating plan. Yesterday was quite an exciting day - It was a beautiful sunny day and the local hunt came up our lane and past our door. It was quite a sight with the master blowing his horn and all the scarlet coats. The horses were beautiful and there were about 60 followers. They left me some fine manure for the veggie plot! I don't like fox hunting but at least its better now that recent legislation means they have to shoot the fox rather than the hounds killing it. I know the foxes do a lot of damage to livestock but I'm always glad when there has been no kill. Having said all that, it's a glorious sight to watch horses and hounds streaking away over the fields. After they had gone out of sight we heard an awful noise coming from behind our greenhouse and one of the hounds had got separated from the pack. We couldn't just let him roam free because there are lambs in the field so we had to find a lead and collar and get him out. We tried ringing the hunt but there was no answer so we put him in the back of the car where he proceeded to bay and howl and we did a tour round locally until we found them. He was so happy to see his mates again and lolloped off without a backward glance. That's gratitude for you! That was my good deed for the day. Our dog Ollie was not too pleased at a pack of hounds coming close to his house and the pussies who were sunning themselves on the windowsill took one look and disappeared off under the bed only to re-appear with a disgusted look on their faces when all was clear. They clearly thought I shouldn't have allowed such a thing to happen and told me so in no uncertain terms. Happy days
