roseomg's Journal, 11 March 2014

And this is why I'm not losing weight! Look at all the snack food and junk gunk I'm eating. I stopped recording my diet and I can only imagine that out of sight and out of mind has kicked up the calorie count in the last few months. I'm going to try to record my food again, because that really seemed to keep me in line. Wish me luck.

Best of luck. Just recording what you eat provides amazing results.

Hit the submit button too soon. Recording foods just makes you eat mindfully instead of just whatever.

Good luck with writing down your healthy foods! You can do this!

Thanks Wholefoodnut, I believe that mindfulness in any aspect of life provides a better quality of life, you are so right. And yes, Deb_N, writing down 'healthy foods.' ^_^ I'm going to try!

Tracking on line helped me better than in the notebook I kept losing 😊. Having it public has made me more accountable to myself. I guess if I go off on much of a tangent it will be out there for all to see.

I completely agree. I attribute much of my weight loss to the fatsecret app. It really works.

I was going to start low carb diet or low calorie diet but the truth is I don't want to stop eating the foods I love. Recording a food journal helps me enjoy the foods I love in moderation. I can have one serving (4 cookies) of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies instead of an entire tube or until I am sick of eating them. Sometimes I even do half a serving and drink 16 ounces of water afterwards. It helps.

That's great advice about the water, Christina. Have you tried infusing your water with fruits or cucumbers? Then it wouldn't even seem like chugging water, but more like a fantastical, rich experience.

I eat most anything I want to, though I'm generally a pretty healthy eater, little junk food, not much for sweets. I stick to a diet plan that is often vegetarian but I do eat some meat, chicken, and fish. I try to keep my calorie average over a week to around 1200.

1200 is so low! I can do it when all I'm eating is salad and clear soups, but when I'm actually eating I usually end up higher. I honestly try for 1200 though. I'm a vegetarian, mostly vegan, as well, I don't think that I would go back.

Everyone is different 1200 may not be your number.
