Real anger is an excellent hunger suppressant! The super shitty thing didn't happen to me, but to my husband, so it's like it happened to me. My husband wasn't looking for a new situation as he's doing very well at his current company. But, he got headhunted and verbally offered a job. They even negotiated the nitty gritty of his contract; then he had to wait for paperwork. Well, lo and behold a few weeks later this asshole tells my husband via a cowardly email that they're going to go another way. Before, dropping the bomb and finally giving us the straight story, he wouldn't reply to texts and voice messages, and just continued to string him along until he had the other person in the bag. Obviously, my husband was getting suspicious after the non-responses, when before this bastard would easily communicate.
How some shits can be so non-nonchalant with people's lives; I will never understand. WTF is wrong with some people! I'm normally a pretty peaceful person, but this had me seeing red with some violent thoughts.
Anyhow, thank you for allowing me to rant. After 24 hrs I feel a tad better...only seeing orange-red now.

How terrible! I sure hope your husband didn't give notice at his original company. Something similar needs to happen to that a-hole who strung your husband along. Sorry you guys had to go through this. We had similar happen 1-1/2 years ago. After months of unemployment, my husband got called by a gentleman that had considered hiring my husband a year before. This time, he wasn't offering as much initially, but he had a decent bonus/commission schedule if my husband was able to grow the business. After only 4 short months on the job, he casually announced on a Friday afternoon that he was letting him go because he couldn't afford him. It was right before Christmas and we had JUST started to feel better about life, finances, etc.

Hi Gillian, yeah, we were both shocked yesterday, but I think in reality we dodged a bullet. He's a complete selfish jerk, so better to find out now than later. No, he didn't say a word to his current company, so that's fine. It's just very frustrating when you get taken for a ride and there is no consequence for the perpetrator. Unfair, but I guess life is full of unfairness and a-holes. I'm sorry your family had to go through a hire and dump situation as well.

Yep... of all emotions I have to avoid eating, anger is never one of them. It's terrible because the hormones released during all that stress don't do our bodies any favor but keep me 'wound up' and I can go days without food. That head hunter needs his head chopped off, shrunk, and hanged on a little rope as an example to others who forget their role in playing in people's lives. The best I can offer is Karma - what goes around, comes around, and he'll get his. The universe will see to that.

Something similar happened to my husband - unfortunately there are people out there that care more about the might dollar than about human beings!

Hi Winerds, thanks for the support, but I'm sorry your family also experienced the same shit treatment. I'm still a bit angry, but it's lessening everyday. As Bella wrote; we can only hope that one day these types of people get theirs.
