So frustrated with the scale! So today I am following this dumb diet to the LETTER! Will see 1) how it goes and 2) what the scale says. Not feeling so great today, not sure why, no specific symptoms, though I didn't sleep well last night and just don't seem to have much energy or 'get up and go' today. Hmmm...

You are losing at a great rate. It's like a pound a day. If you weigh daily, then you need to understand that many things effect the scale and our water weight fluctuates hourly. Google "why the scale lies" for insight. The scale can go up even when we do everything right. If you go out to eat and stay within your calories, you can see a temporary gain from sodium. If you start a new exercise plan, your muscles can temporarily retain water to help them heal. Lack of sleep, medications, hormones, inflammation, stress, etc. can all effect the scale. Make sure you are drinking water/liquids to flush out sodium and keep things moving. That teensy weensy gain will be gone and more before you know it. You are doing great!

Thanks for the encouragement Suzi! The sleep part is likely definitely playing a part this week. But I'm determined. I am also determined to break my scale obsession! I will google and do that reading, its crazy to see the vast differences. Water has become my new best friend, and I'm going to try and just focus on one 'official' weigh in each week. One day at a time! :)
