notjune1's Journal, 31 January 2014

I will preface this by saying....I'm lucky..I have a supportive husband. He has been great so far about helping me eat right and is my exercise buddy. That being said, he is not helping my mood lately.

Right now he is on a "bulking up" kick, as he thought he had lost too much (20lbs-eye roll). He is all about putting on some weight and working on his muscle. He is really eating alot, and it is not helping-he's trying to gain and I'm trying to lose, and seeing him eat all the time is really hard for me. He has never had a weight problem..and while one of my goals has been and is to weigh less than he does (18lbs to go on that!), I dont think he really gets the fact that if there is food out and being eaten every dang hour it seems like, that it is difficult for me.

I feel crummy about complaining about it, as he has been so great all these months helping me on my journey. So I am venting here. lol

Just tell him nicely how you feel but let him know you want to be there for him too. There has to be a compromise or you will have to strengthen up your resolve to just ignore what he eats. LOL! I know it's easier said than done.

I told him, but he just doesnt seem to understand it. He's like "you've been doing great-I really didnt think it would bother you". Yea, right.

Yes, it's hard when others in the house can eat what they want. But the cold hard truth is we are responsible for ourselves and what we put in our mouth. Maybe when he is eating something you like, you can do something else or he can go to another room. On one hand, it's not fair to him to have to stop eating things he enjoys, but on the other hand temptation is hard to resist. So I understand the dilemma. Maybe plan your own special treats so you don't feel deprived when he has something. Just keep thinking about how amazing you will look when you get to goal. Put the scale in front of the fridge, lol! Anything that helps keep you focused. Weight loss is hard.

He's still eating healthy foods..it's just the volume of food that gets to me. lol He can kill a whole jar of organic peanut butter in just a few days...or a bunch of bananas...

Yeah, my DH used to be able to eat 3burgers to my one and still weigh less than me - I felt like that whiney lady on the weight loss commercial.
