Johanne's Journal, 11 December 2013

I was 226.8 this morning. That's a 5 lb loss since last Thurs. I may have finally figured this out. I love breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day. I have been eating breakfast within 30-45 minutes after waking up, as recommended, even though I'm not really hungry then. I've been complaining for over a year now that I will be fine all day, on plan eating, then evening hits and around 9 or 10 p.m., I get ravenous. I eat, or I can't sleep.

This week, I was so distracted in the morning, I didn't get around to eating until around 11-12 in the morning. Because of this, my meals have still been spaced out normally, but my last meal has been falling after 8-9 p.m. The first few mornings were just forgetfulness, then I noticed It felt comfortable and started doing it on purpose. The upshot of this is, instead of being ravenous at 9-10 p.m., I actually have to add food to meet my calorie and nutrition goals. The crazy cravings have even stopped. I went to the store yesterday and didn't buy one thing I shouldn't! (I have to admit, the Bailey's Irish Cream Truffels in the Christmas aisle were tempting. LOL!)

I'm going to continue doing this for a while and see what happens. If success turns out to be just a schedule shift, how cool would that be? Our bodies are strange and wonderful things!

I'm off to get my coffee and check up on my buddies.

Ta!

Whatever works for you honey, congrats on the loss. My friend Ruhu always says we are lab rats, experimenting on ourselves constantly to find what works. And sometimes we have to keep shifting it up, because what works now, won't work a week from now. That's what keeps this interesting :)
