Does anyone else find themselves obsessed with what the bathroom scales read? That's the way I am and it's sabotaging my diet.I get on the scales more than 5 times a day. I weigh 2lbs less this morning than I do right now and it's driving me crazy!
I'll do either 1 of two things. I won't eat @ all or I'll binge because I'm not losing. I'm getting frustrated!
My clothes are fitting looser. But I can't stand for my weight to go up. Can anyone relate?

The scale will vary all throughout the day. I tried a couple times to weigh every hour just to see. Now I know that if I way near the same right before bed as I did in the morning, I will show a loss the next morning. But if I weigh more, then I will have a gain or stay the same. It's crazy how the body fluctuates and the scale moves. Stop concentrating on the scale number and start using your measuring tape. The tape is a lot more accurate as to what your body is doing. It does not matter what the scale says as long as you eat right on plan and the measuring tape is changing. And it is weird as well. I measure once a week. Sometimes I will lose half an inch on my arm and gain an inch on my ribs or somewhere else, etc. The body readjusts the fat as needed through your body and loses where it needs to lose from. Just go with it. As long as you are losing inches and on a downward trend overall, you are doing it right!

I always gain about 4-5 pounds by the end of the day. I retain water and at night get up about 3 times and usually by morning I once again get the lowest weight. The really funny part is I now have been weighing in in the middle of the night just to see and at 4am I will be 2 pounds heaver than at 8am with no potty breaks. It is really weird. However, I have quit weighing throughout the day because I really don't want to see the water retention gain because it's depressing.

If the scale effects you that much, than only weigh once or twice a week. Your body is made up of 60% water and many things effect the scale. Most people weigh more at night because of all the food and drink you have all day. Plus, if you eat a lot of carbs, sodium ,exercise, medications, hormones, lack of sleep, etc and many more things effect the scale too. Google "why the scale lies" for in sight in to water weight. If your clothes are loose, it means whatever you are doing is working. The scale is only one way to measure weight loss, how your clothes fit is another.

Thank you all for your feedback. I'll try to take the advice and not weigh myself as often. I'm only hurting myself, huh?
