I've been really sucessful with 1200-1400 calories a day. And lots of walking/exercise. Recording everything helps too keep you on track. :) Just take it one choice at a time, one day at a time, and you'll reach your goal. :)

This is just my opinion, but I think 1200 calories a day is a bit low to have healthy weight loss, but it does work for a lot of people and you could easily be one of them. It's not a lot more, but it allows for a bit more consumption of needed nutrients, but I would probably aim for around 1400 calroies a day. I read that your knee was injured. Has it healed and does it allow for some exercise? At rest, your body probably burns more than the 1200 calories a day. I just read some great advice from k8yk on a friend's journal and this really worked well for her. What she seems to have done was track her activities and then subtract 500-1000 calories from that value to figure out what calories she should consume that day. There are so many ways to do it that work well for different people. Me, I set my own RDI at 1800 calories. I also try to workout at least 30 minutes cardio/heavy bag 6-7 times a week and strength train between 1-2 hours 3 or more times a week. It's hard to do and to stick to, but it's working for me somehow. Just food for thought. Don't worry, it's healthy food. LOL. Best of luck to you with what you decide to do. Keep us up to date.

What I found works for me is constant calorie cycling. If I stay too low say 1200 or 1400 too long then I stall so I do a week or two at that range bounce it up to 1800-2000 then drop it back down. Also I cycle macro nutrients. Every few weeks I go high protein then moderate carb then a 33% balance of all three. I find it helps greatly to keep the body guessing!

i was not able to hit this goal the first days, but im glad I am able to make it 3 days in a row now. what had helped me actually was COFFEE! i dont know why but I dont feel hunger everytime I have my cup of coffee. and I make it a point to walk like in 4mph speed for at least 45mins to 1.5hrs a day. @Kincole that's a nice suggestion, I am also thinking about that calorie cycling. it's gonna help me in case my body hits plateau. @Galahad are you a knight in shining armor?? :D thanks for asking about my knee. yeah, it has already healed but the bad news is, it seems more like a permanent injury now. i cannot feel pain when I am walking or climbing the stair, but if I move in a wrong direction or I move too fast, it twists and its painful. but the pain goes away fast. this always happens. like one time I was cleaning the blinds, i stepped on to a chair and bam! it twisted again. but the pain went away in a few seconds like nothing happened. @Jada thanks! yes i am recording everything for quite sometime now. thanks for the support!
