It's Tuesday, and the sun is shining and it is warm today, not really hot. That transitional warmth, just before the cooler weather sets in and stays around.

The trees are changing into those lovely fall colors!! They should be really beautiful this year. I think I will take a small walk in a little while, and enjoy it!!

We've been taking care of my up the street neighbors little dog Precious. Her daddy won't be back until Friday or Saturday. The nice thing is, she stays on the porch. She likes it there. We couldn't bring her down here with all the cats, it would be chaos!! She's an Australian Heeler. She's really cute, a bundle of energy!! She listens very well, and that's a good thing. She's crate trained, another good thing! She does love to jump though, and really needs her nails trimmed!! We (me and or the hubby) let her outside to do her business in the morning, and then she stays on the porch until I go up to check on her, let her go potty and play tug with her. I check her water and food, give her a scooby snack and then walk back home, (all of 2 doors away) and let her enjoy the porch. I go back up around 3 and do it again, then when the hubby gets home, its his turn, and then he goes up after supper, and then tucks her in for the night!! We can't let her have the run of the house, because she has a habit of chewing every thing in sight!!

On another note, I remembered a good book I once read, about stress. It was just a little book, and it really opened my eyes on how I handled things that I thought were causing me tons of stress. The name of the book was " Don't sweat the small stuff.......and its all small stuff" by the late Richard Carlson, PhD. There is even a website you can go to that is run by his widow. It is really a nice site, and has some nice inspirational quotes. Its called Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
Just thought I would add the link and you can go check it out, or not.

That little book gave me so much freedom though. I don't worry half as much as I used to about things. I just kind of give myself that reminder every now and then. Is it really that big of a deal?? Is is really that important to worry about?? Most of the time the answer is no. On occasion its yes, but thats ok too....puts things in perspective!! I ask myself about my weight loss, is it a big deal that I lose this weight?? Yes. Is it because I want to be healthy?? Yes. Is it to impress anyone??? No....

I think you get the point. Not everything is a great big deal!! Most things are not worth getting yourself sick over! So, you go over your calorie limit for the day. Big deal?? NO!! Will you fail because you went over??? NO!! Can you start over and make sure you stay on track?? YES!! Will you succeed in your journey?? YES!!! Don't beat yourself up just because you slipped a little. That beating is what will make you want to quit, that self doubt!! Throw out that self pity, and step up and be determined!!!

The journey to your goal weight is just the beginning! Keeping it off for at least a year or two is the really hard part!! You have to have that determination to make sure it doesn't come back on with a vengeance. That is the major key!! Your maintenance phase is the most important!! You just cannot let yourself fall back into the old way of eating once you reach your goal!! You have to keep watch on what you eat, and to continue to exercise to make all your efforts stick!! This really is a lifestyle change, not a diet!!!

I really hope everyone had a great day today! Don't let the small stuff keep you from enjoying yourself!!

One of my favorite 'forget the small stuff' sayings was 'in a 100 years from now, will anyone care?' And another was 'is this the hill you wanna die on? Choose your battles...' Have a great day.

Awesome pep talk, Lu! I've eaten over every day this week...not a lot, 63 yesterday, 111 the day before, way too much the day before that. But that doesn't mean I'm quitting. I'll just start again the next day. Thanks for sharing with us!!
