Hi everyone! Today I was really trying to be careful and start eating lower carbs...I'm excited about the October Carb Challenge...
I had much success with the Atkins plan long ago...
Can anyone help me with setting a goal for the daily number of carbs?
What should I be shooting for? How about calories and fat? Can anyone offer suggestions as to what works for them? I really don't want to eat a ton of fat...Any suggestions on how I can save my sanity with something that I'm allowed to have on this diet? Thanks everyone! I'm new here, and so far everyone has been incredibly helpful...Hope everyone is doing well...Wishing much success to all! :)

I only watch the bad carbs so I don't know. I don't count my veggies as carbs..I think I should be able to eat all the salad, squash, broccoli and cabbage I can handle without thinking it's bad, you know? I could help ya more with SB guidelines than I can Atkins. Whatever you do, I'm sure it will work, sounds like you have the right mindset. Go get 'em!

If you are used to making good choices staying away from white flour and sugar you shouldn't have any problems. You might check out the challenge forum topic about working backwards instead of the Atkins approach. Some people don't need to cut back as much to lose weight and it is more about making better choices anyway. Some people are setting reasonable carbohydrate goals that fit their particular diet, that is why you choose on this challenge. You do what you think is best for your eating plan.
