CheeseHippy's Journal, 19 October 2007

Do you ever have those days or weeks where you feel like you can't do anything right? Yep, that's me. Maybe it's PMS, or the fact that I have trouble remembering to take my anti-anxiety meds with regularity.

I guess I just have to remember that whatever I do that makes me feel stupid or idiotic isn't likely to be remembered by anyone else. I've read that anxiety problems stem from narcissism - we dwell on things and peoples' perceptions of us much more than they really matter in the grand scheme of things, because we are the center of our beings.

My problem is, whenever I get upset, I don't want to eat. And after I don't eat for a meal or two, I get ravenous and instead of eating chicken or something, I go for the low carb ice cream. It doesn't help that I've been broke lately and haven't been able to afford groceries. The contents of my refrigerator are pretty unappetizing. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a few things this paycheck. And hopefully I'll be getting my promotion soon.

What do you do to get rid of the blahs? What do you do when you've done something stupid, and you've resolved it, but you can't get rid of that feeling of complete and utter inadequacy?

Yes I HAVE been there...I'm kinda there right now. I'm dead broke...and after last weekend, I feel inadequate. But just know that as long as you're doing everything you can to be at your best, you have NOTHING to worry about at all. You will get back to those feelings of adequacy...I do a number of things to get rid of the blah's...I'm a cleaner! If something in my world isn't right, I CLEAN! I also pray...or take a nice hot bath with a good book...or watch a funny movie...your world will get back to okay!!!! In the meantime, I'm always here if ya need me...

Just remember that tomorrow is always a new day...learn something from today to make tomorrow better. I sometimes think that bad things happen to us for a reason, so that we can make ourselves a better person, friend, mother, spouse, etc. Anway...You can do it girl!

Sorry you are in the dumps. I like quiet and outdoors. I take a walk. Doesn't cost anything and keeps me away from the fridge. Of course, if I"m really down, I eat anything that's chocolate so it's my downfall. But if I can muster myself up for a walk, that's what can change things for me. Hang in there. Alot of the simple things on Adkins are cheaper. Walmart has 10 pounds of chicken let quarters for about $4. I cook up the whole batch and they last me for days. That and salad fixings. Wish I was there to get you out for a walk through the woods nearby.

I have felt like that many times. I use to just walk away from it and not fix it, but as I got older, I realize that I feel bad for much longer when I don't right my wrongs. I'm glad that you've resolved it. Just move on and learn from it. Be glad that you went through it and realize that it was suppose to happen. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens just by chance. You will be fine. Today is a new day don't contaminate it with yesterday's wories.
