flaxseed's Journal, 05 August 2008

I just love this site. Recording weight and what I've eaten really helps keep me on track. Its good to see how well everyone is doing. Finding foods and using recipes is quite hard though. There seems to be so many things in the lists that I can't get here in the UK and I haven't got a clue what some of them are so that I can substitute. I can only guess sometimes but most things have worked out fine with my alternatives. Egg beaters sounds really useful and fudgesicles sound scrummy. Even though we have some of the same manufacturers here (like Kraft) the range of products isn't the same. Cool whip sounds good. I struggled with half and half for ages until I looked it up on the net. Beans are called something different too. Couldn't find what we call broad beans and you call fava beans for ages. I'm definitely getting educated(and thinner) on here. I could do with a bit of your sunshine too. Weather here in Scotland has been a bit wet this week. You're all probably still in bed as I write this, but have a good day
