shadowx1110's Journal, 10 April 2013

So far, so good. I have gained some weight, but not a lot. My due date is 9/28/13, so that puts me at about 15 weeks along, close to 4 months!!! I'm only supposed to be gaining a pound a week. Before I found out I was pregnant I was actually 230 so that sounds about right. At least in hindsight it makes complete sense now why it was so hard to get under 230 and stay there the past month LOL.

I may be induldging a bit too much so I'm trying to pull back some, particularily on bread and sugar. I am feeling SO guilty about everytime I've had a bit of candy or something sugary in the past week. It's been a week and a half since I found out, already I've gained 4 lbs.. though maybe some of that is my body normaling out for pregnancy? For 4 months of my pregnancy I've been losing weight when really I shouldn't have been.

I'm not stressing too much over my weight but I don't want to risk getting gestational diabetes, which I'm at high risk for with my PCOS and being 80 lbs overweight. It would be nice to see most of the weight go when the baby comes, but I know that won't happen. I'm more concerned about not making an already risky pregnancy worse.. or even worse, losing the baby or having a premature birth.

Congratulations! Keep doing healthy things for yourself and you'll be fine. I had a friend who was about your weight when she was pregnant she actually lost some weight because she was eating healthier and walking. She had a healthy 8 lb. baby even. Pregnancy can be so hard because of emotions and cravings, so that may be the hardest part to deal with, but maybe you'll just crave good foods. :) I hope all goes well for you!

Try not to stress to much as that won't do you any good at all, or the baby. Make healthy choices to ensure everything goes fine, lay off the candy! You don't need sugar right now when your at such a high risk so do yourself and that baby a favor.

First of all, Congrats!!! Also, you can maintain a very healthy diet while pregnant without increasing risk to the baby. I actually lost weight the first 7 months of my pregnancy and only gained 11lbs from 7 months til about a week before delivery. Then I stopped walking and ballooned. Like you said, you've lost weight before and can do it again. Just take care of you and that baby!
