A strange observation, which maybe other people have experienced as well: my friends have been complimenting me and saying how differently I look now, but I could never objectively see these changes myself, in my face especially. It's as if the weight loss couldn't yet override my old sense of self (and poor self image). But this morning I woke up early for work and groggily walked in front of the bathroom mirror, and for a split second I didn't even recognize myself- but I felt good about what I saw, haha. It's an amazing (and simultaneously disconcerting) feeling! :)

Enjoy it -- you deserve it. Also, look for other things to celebrate. For me it's pants that fit better, bending over is easier. For me the weight loss appears first in my face, but I know that's not true for everyone. Way to go -- you're doing great!

Thats great! I know my friends knew about my weight loss efforts due to Facebook... I still haven't been able to see the changes in my body yet but I've gotten those kinds of compliments too. Although I have yet to do a double take in front of the mirror! Today I wrote down my 4 week loss stats and I've lost lots of inches, so I know I'm changing. Some of my clothes are fitting differently too, so I know there IS proof. I just cant see it yet. I'm going to have to take another progress picture to see if I can compare side by side my results.

It's hard not to see our flaws and what we want to change. It's great when our preceptions start to change. Great job. I hope to do as good.
