i thought I did well. I went to the gym, didn't eat out but made meals at home which came out of light and tasty cookbook and still gained 2 lbs. What the heck!

Could be something as simple as too much sodium. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight. If you had a higher caloric day the day before you weighed, that could also be it. Just keep going and watch the calories. Make sure your drinking water.
