Ok so today starts day 4 and I haven't lost an ounce since that first day. Am I doing something wrong or does my body just not like South Beach anymore? I eat scrambled eggs in the morning, a salad for lunch with chicken and usually chicken or steak for dinner with broccoli and grape tomatoes with a cheese dip that I make from half and half. All of that stuff is ok'd on the SBD so what is it? No, I don't work out right now and don't encourage me to do so cuz I don't feel like it and it worked for me the last time without going to the gym all the time so it's not that. For dessert I'll eat a mixture of the lite or ff cool whip, 2% cottage cheese and orange jello... I know it sounds gross, but it's actually really good. Could that be doing it? All that stuff is allowed too but something just isn't working for me. Any advice... minus exercise (cuz I promise guys, I don't wanna hear that one)? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The first time I did Phase 1 I only lost a few pounds and they didn't come off until the second week!!! It was very frustrating, but I felt better physically so I kept at it. I think it can be really hard to see any weight loss when you don't have a ton of weight to lose. Hang in there. You know you are doing a good thing for your body by making if healthy as well as skinny. Do you drink enough water? Do you drink pop? I have been told that quitting pop and artificial sweetners can help lose weight. I have been trying it, but haven't seen results yet. Although, I treat myself now to a diet coke every few days. It may be worth a try though because every body is different. Keep going in the direction you are going though - even a few pounds will feel amazing!!! Blessings...

Girl, that doesn't sound gross... I eat something like that ... cottage cheese, orange sf jello powder, and I used to put manderin orange slices in it!! YUM!! Those were the days. Since I am like you and I feel I've come to yet another HALT... I am trying to consume no more than 3 pks of splenda daily (if even that).. it's hard for me but gosh, something has to work!! Plus, I know I keep drinking too much diet sodas .. but I did that last time and I lost.. plus, I ate all the splenda I wanted last time!! Plus, I used creamer in my coffee and never measured it!! Like you... I'm just questioning what I'm doing wrong now b/c I am going by the book more this time than I did when I lost 100 lbs!!! I DON'T understand girl... maybe we'll figure it out though!! Good luck, don't give up yet, I'm right there beside ya and I'll even hold your hand if needed. This sucks but we're in it for the long run, right?? At least we're eating healthier if nothing else!

OMG that's what it is!!! I just don't add the manderin oranges until phase 2; we call it oranges poranges!!! =) Thanks for being there, we are in this for the long haul so we'll get it eventually. Maybe I will try to cut down on the sodas and unsweet tea sweetened with splenda. So I'm not really sure but hopefully that will do something. Maybe it is too much of the sweeteners and not enough water that's getting me.

Just a quick thought... full fat half and half?? Think we're supposed to have low fat, and think dairy is restricted on phase one... right?? *still waking up, so not too clear yet* Check, but I think you need to omit the dairy for phase 1..??

It's the fat free one... well crap, I just looked it up and it says very limited. Well thanks for the help guys!

Half and half is limited, but in the new revised book, you are allowed up to 2 cups of skim or 1% milk a day.

Have you been eating your snacks on time? eating the snacks on time helps keep your metabolism going so you body doesn't start trying to slow down your weight loss. I know you will figure it out and get moving down again. I also didn't lose much the first week on phase one but it all caught up with me the 2nd week and I lost what the book says you will for the first two weeks. Maybe it takes our bodies one week to figure out and process what we are doing? Hang in there, you will work it all out.

girl, I feel your pain because I've been stuck in an endless rut myself! I'm doing the fat-fast right now and we'll see what happens with that! I was going to suggest counting calories. Maybe you're just breaking even right now with enough calories to maintain, but too many to lose weight on....but then Janelleas has the opposite in mind for you and she's SB certified, I'm not!
