Yesterday was SHEER BLISS! To be dieting and still get to eat heavy cream-that has got to be the icing on the weight loss cake (low carb of course!)

I have started a low carb diet since Thursday and have lost 3lbs already. I have always had reservations about low carb because all my previous attempts made me weak and unable to do anything. Even the drastic weight losses was never enough to keep me going.

Just by adding one more food item into the equation (my beloved heavy whipping cream), I am finally beginning to feel like I can see this through. I have also learnt one more thing - You can't have low fat and low carb at the same time! In my previous low carb diets, I was avoiding too much fat so I ended up consuming only around 500 calories per day! Now I am throwing oil in everywhere just to ensure I meet my daily calorie requirements. I am also being selective about which fats I want to consume. I would much rather have a tablespoon of whipped cream than 1 tablespoon of olive oil on my salad. I would much rather have cheddar cheese than oil in my fried egg.

So, I am going to keep going with this low carb deal for now. I would like to see how long I can keep it up. I am thinking, as long as I can keep having my walnuts, mayonnaise and of course heavy cream - I just might be able to see it through!

(One final note - I did a great job yesterday only to ruin it by eating a whole bunch of watermelon. I didnt even want to eat it but no one seemed to want to eat the damn thing and I didnt want it to get wasted so I ended up waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy over my carb count..at least it didnt show up on the scales this morning!)

You're doing great. At least it was watermelon and not a candy bar. Just pick yourself up and move on. You can do it and you'll get down to goal in no time. I do enjoy this diet as well. I love not starving and having the pounds come off. :)
