CJT1217's Journal, 19 September 2012

Awwwe crap. I've gone and lost my motivation. Even gotten borderline lazy. Ever since I've been getting hit with the string of injuries preventing me from trail running and doing my burpees, exercise has been cut down probably to 20% of what I was doing before. I'm keeping the food intake about the same and maintaining weight between 180 and 175 which is a good thing. But I havnt bothered really with documenting food intake. I'm being a bad example right now, but as we've seen with others, we all need a little break from focussing so intensely on this food and exercise.

I'm sure as soon as the bod's back up to par, I'll kick it up a couple gears, but until then, I'll weigh in once a week, keep eating right (yet not really document my intake since I keep a good idea on where I'm at and what macronutrients chubb me up), and simply think about living a healthier lifestyle.

One thing I've noticed is that my leg muscles are really tight, which is probably the cause of the string of injuries. So I need something low impact that will help stretch and loosen them up. Think Yoga would be good?

Yoga is always good for muscle stretch and repair - lots of athletes do yoga, I have been borderline lazy, too, bt have 30 more pounds to lose so I cannot continue to slack this way and be successful. Maybe while you rest, you still could burn a few calories kicking my butt!

I have tried Yoga and some of the poses hurt my knee, but it is supposed to be a good low impact exercise. What about walking? That is always my favorite even though my husband says it is boring after the first mile. LOL

I'll research yoga more. Sounds like it's been around for a few thousand years so I'm sure it's effective! I'll give it a shot soon. Kim, ya, walking can still cause some pain in front of the heel. I picked up some insoles which really helped, but if I get too aggressive, like I usually do when exercising, the pain flares up. Blah! This effin sucks. But you know, when there's a will there's a way. Unfortunately the will is on vacay at the moment.

I caved in so easily at lunch today. Well, I went to the chowhall and got some chili con carne (no beans) and some pizza bread (ditched the bread) so that wasnt all that bad. But then it was one of the extern's bdays and the ladies brought in chocolate cake. Gahdammit. I had a 2 inch wide sliver. I figure 50g carbs. Or is that under estimating? Now I definitely have to work out today. I'm starting to turn a little mushy!

Ok, so this journal went from Yoga to kama sutra...don't they both need flexibility?? :)

I couldn't say for certain. I've only done yoga 3 times and the other...never actually. I'm a runner. Yoga is for hippies.

Seems very related. Both require strength , stamina, and flexibility. Both will require more study, exploration, and testing >=)

Documented my food intake for yesterday on today's date. I can't be bothered with putting in today's food now. Wanted spaghetti for lunch today so I cut my low carb tortillas into thin slices to simulate pasta in my spaghetti sauce. Not too shabby! It was like having wheat noodles. Doesnt beat the real deal but saves me 40g of carbs ;)

Hey - those low carb tortillas are quite versatile, eh? spaghetti, pizza, burritos, homemade tortilla chips,,,,amazing!

Btw, Imagur is a good place to upload pictures. Let's take a vote on whether we need documentation for your exercises!

This should be interesting.... if he combines this whole journal he'll end up getting a partner and then if there's a camera involved.... well, I won't go there...
