CJT1217's Journal, 08 August 2012

So I'm tracking a "low-to-no carb/no cardio" personal challenge for this week.

So far I'm feeling fine and leaning up despite not being able to do any kind of cardio activity. Yesterday was a complete rest day/lazy evening. Sunday I worked out chest and delts and Monday was back and bis. Will repeat Thursday and Friday since my chest is still sore from working out with actual gym equipment on sunday.

I'm in the middle of a 12 day work week and honestly it's taking it's toll and I do feel fatigued. But I feel this way everytime a pull a twelver, so the lack of carbs is definitely NOT an issue. But, all I have to say is thank god for espresso!

Keep on, keepin on! Today's one of those days that I wish I liked coffee.

When it comes to coffee I like to quote the beastie Boys- "I like sugar with coffee and cream!" Maybe you'd like it more that way? I don't use real sugar, I use the fake stuff though :) Num num.

You know, I used to hate a lot of things that I love now. Maybe it's time to try it again, Clifford style: tan and sweet haha!

I'm insulted. Whatever, Thynes. The cream's gone sour. haha. I do love me some rockstar. The blue and white zero carb one is my favorite! And after a long night of whiskey swiggin, I liek the grape or lemonaid recovery :D

I'm a lemonade recovery girl, tried the grape (I think it was) but didn't care for it. blue and white you say....hmmmm. And give it up, you love me lol! PS "Whatever" was my HS Senior quote, short simple and to the point. Actually I just used to say it too much.

After having my leftover chicken breast for lunch wrapped with romaine leaves with some feta cheese inside, I decided to get some buffalo wings. Haha! My diet must seem so rediculous. It's a total contradiction to classical nutrition beliefs/theories/"science"

I love lettuce leaves as wraps! And if you want REAL wing ya gotta come to NY! They are called Buffalo Wings for a reason. I wish I could go with your diet!

Noted! I've always wanted to cover all the foods that have a city name attached to it and any other food associated with a region or place. I've only completed Chicago deep dish. So, my food list: Philly for cheesesteak, new england for their lobster sandwhich and clam chowder, Texas for steak, NYC for their flat pizza, Louisiana for their spicy seafood/gumbo/etc, and Buffalo for their wings! And hmm...what else famous am I missing?

Eat a potato in Idaho? Fresh Pinapple in Hawaii? Boston Baked Beans? Steamed crabs with old bay in Baltimore, and you go to MAINE for lobster...period trust me, Key Lime Pie in Key West rather than Red Lobster???? Oh there are LOTS!! If I had time I'd come up with lots I'm sure. On an unrelated topic: It's not food but check this out... "SYRACUSE -- Syracuse bars are now ranked among the top in the nation. According a recent Huffington Post article, Syracuse is one of the Top Metros for Drinking. The city ranked sixth overall in the country. The rankings are based on the number of bars compared to the number of households." I think I am beginning to understand why I just love my cocktails and brew now lol.

I'm going to get a map of the US and put pins on all these places. I'll cal lit my "hit-list" :D. Syracuse is all that huh? Wow, I don't even know where it is in NY. But it sounds like my kind of city!! Well, except for your extreme temps! 4 real seasons? I like my 2.5 seasons (Fall and Spring weather with a few weeks of actual Summer heat-sans humidity).

So you can't be much of a colegiate sports fan to not know Syracuse University... Esp the basketball program. An Syracuse isn't "all that" but a decent city for a small one I guess. It's smack in the middle of upstate. And yes the weather is !@$?#&*! up!

So the wings in Buffalo are really the best? It's right new Niagara Falls too! Hmm... 2 birds with one stone.....

They are called Buffalo wings because they were first created at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo NY silly...

I don't know... we've got some BOMB Buffalo wings out here on the West Coast...

BRING IT! I could beat those at HOME!

This is hilarious - and if you go to Maine, you ask for a "lobster roll" - if you say sandwich you'll get some type of weird stuff. Thynes' list is pretty great - crabs in Baltimore are the best, ya sit outside and pound them with hammers! And, Key Lime pie in Key West also is delightful - much lighter than one would expect! Nawlins for gumbo and beignets (sweet donuts at Cafe du Monde!), and the North End of Boston has the best Italian. Boston is my home town - don't live there now, but my heart always is there!

...ahem...don't forget Texas BBQ!
