This is my first time trying Atkins. I am on day 2 and feeling a little bit on the heavy side. My whole body just feels lethargic. I guess this is normal right. In a couple of days I'll be feeling great. . . Last night wasn't really fun for me. I had some horrible stomach cramps from the change to a high fat diet. I've always had trouble with acid reflux, so when I eat too many high fat foods my stomach gets all out of whack, but I am managing. I made it through the night! I'm really excited about this. I have been overweight since I was a baby. I've tried so many things to get this weight off and I had convinced myself that I was never meant to be thin. I could diet and lose maybe about 10 pounds, but then when I wasn't looking it would creep right back on. I really don't know what it is like to be a healthy weight. I am looking forward to finding out! [/b][/b][/b]

This is the best place to come for support and advice. This is also my first time on atkins, I have never been thin b4 or even able to lose more than a few lbs on the fad diets. I have been on Atkins since Dec 27th and am down 21 lbs. It works, keep at it, it only gets better. After your first 2 weeks are up, ur energy will increase and your cravings will decrease. Good luck and stay strong!

You really should feel better in a couple days after your body has had a chance to detox from the carbs. Don't force the fat, just don't avoid it. Make sure you are getting all the recommended vegetables. Good luck.

Best wishes... welcome! Slow and steady wins the race. Don't overdo greasy foods too much they can make you feel sick sometimes until your body is adjusted. I've been on Atkins 3 1/2 months now and today I didn't get enough vegetables for the first time in a long time - if you do Atkins for lifetime as a permanent solution to your weight problem once you reach your goal weight and avoid bad carbs like I'm going to do you should find yourself healthy and thin and in great shape for many, many years!! Stick with us here for support at times your weight may plateau but you'll see with time it keeps going down and in a matter of months the scale will be in places you only wish it was now - it is for me and I'm so happy now I'm not going back to the overweight lethargic me of 55 pounds of extra weight I've lost since my highest weight - Good luck!!!! :)

P.S. I've lost only 19 pounds on Atkins since October - the other thirty came from Atkins seven years back but I'm sticking with it permanently this time as it's been so successful for me! The 55 lbs. lost is not over a few months - I've only been losing about a pound a week but I'm really happy as over time this certainly adds up!!!!!
