Probably pretty much on target for macros yesterday.. I cooked a chicken korma ,so included the ingredients for one quarter Portion but left a lot of the sauce.🎉
Keto bread was ok.. smelt more eggy than it tasted and 90secs in the microwave when I’m craving bread or crackers can’t be bad 😉
The recipient used almond flour and coconut oil( which was solid) What’s the difference between almond flour/ground almonds and coconut oil/block of creamed coconut?
And thanks to Doobs I remembered my cumin in my curry 😉
Have a happy and successful day FS friends 🤗😁

Well done Poppy. Coconut oil and block creamed coconut are totally different. Coconut oil looks like lard when it's cold but on a warm day in the summer it turns to oil. Creamed coconut has the flesh in it - more like a highly concentrated form of coconut milk. I think almond flour is more finely ground than ground almonds but it's not easy to get in the UK. I just sub with ground almonds.

Ah thanks Doobs, I use ground almonds fur baking and curries, so wondered if it was just the texture..
I was just surprised when Used the coconut oil to cook my curry and it melted into LOADS of oil, which is why I didn’t eat most of the sauce.. it reminded me of some curries that I used to cook with creamed coconut.. the oil layer on the top was the same 😉

How much did you use, Poppy ? I probably only use a tablespoon for a batch of curry!

I used a teaspoon .. cooked it on coconut oil to release the flavour, then added water and evaporated it off, like when I make a spice paste, then stirred it into my korma portion before serving

If you want to grind your almonds or coconut, or sesame seeds into a finer meal to use in keto bread baking a small coffee bean grinder works pretty well since we don’t do huge quantities all at once.🤷🏻♀️
