Somewhere in February I read an article in Harper's Magazine about fasting. I became fascinated by the prospect. I mentally prepared myself and finally skipped one whole day of food. No problem. Robin also read up on it, and went back over information he found about the length of fasting to optimize weight loss. Some odd number like 36 hours before the body panics and tries to reset the metabolism. We began to fast from Sunday night until Tuesday morning, then from Wednesday night until Friday morning. That worked so well, we added Wednesday until Saturday. Our hunger is minimal, even with an hour and a half swim, and if we feel we need it we add a veggie/fruit smoothie or chicken broth soup.
