loveaic's Journal, 01 February 2010

Well, I didn't succeed at what I wanted to weigh in at this morning. I'm not even going to record it, I just want to cry:( I am actually UP 2.5 pounds since last week. How does this happen??? Just life getting in the way. Too busy and too many functions to attend. 2.5 pounds equals 8,750 EXTRA CALORIES!!!! How is this possible??? I will keep trying, but I am extremely discouraged:( Why have I had to fight this my whole life?

Hey loveaic! Hang in there! I had a rough weekend too, and find myself back up a few pounds (i'm not going to record it either). :-) I know that i made poor decisions over the weekend, and know that i can get myself back on track this week. It is discouraging and so frustrating that we have to fight so hard at this, when some people seem to have it so easy. However, i have realized that even most of the super skinny people actually watch what they eat too...we just have to figure it out for ourselves. Don't let this get you down! Get right back on track and keep the successes coming! You can do it!!! Best to you!

Only you know whats going on, BUT a 2.5 pound gain dose not necessarily = 8,750 extra calories. It could be muscle weight if your working out / running. It could be water retention if your not drinking enough water, or you had one salty meal. You just need to sit down, think about what you did this week / weekend, and see what needs to change. You can do it!!!!

Thank you for the support! I've never been one to be able to just drop a few pounds in a relatively short amount of time, so it is hard when it goes up that much in such a short amount of time. I still may weight in. I don't know. I wanted to be consistent and weigh in each Monday, but this is just too much. I'm doing good today, so I will see about tomorrow. Best to you, too!

Also, thanks MomofTwoGirls, I am not very knowledgeable(sp?) in the nutrition category, so it could be other variables than calories. Yes, I will do better and most of all be more prepared. Already thinking about the Super Bowl party and I am literally bringing my own meal and I won't eat the junk there. It will be hard, but if I look at things realistically, this will be what I have to do. Thanks!

I was also pretty astonished when I thought about how many extra calories I would have had to eat to gain weight like I did. I'd like to think that it's at least partially muscle... I like Glen's advice - a routine will eventually settle in and it won't be so incredibly hard to stay on track. Keep your head up and keep on working hard!
