Stress sucks. If one thing is best at derailing me, it's stress. Just found out today that I get to leave my dream job in a few months for the #1 job I would detest most. And I don't get a say. Well, I do get a say, sorta. I can turn it down, drop out of the rotational program I'm in, and lose out big-time on salary, and my school won't be comped anymore. Or, I can suck it up, and deal with it for the next 3-4 years. But damn it would suck. My boss would be a guy who I strongly dislike and he is not a fan of me either. The job would be given to me instead of people that have been working for it for years, and they would be my direct reports. So I'm sure they'll just love me.... some chick from the office coming in and stealing their promotion.

Gonna work the stress out at the gym after work. Can't wait for today to be over. Glad I'm giving up booze this month, otherwise tonight would be a rough one.

Note, suck it up, and look at it positively. Work is tough, but it can make you a better person. You do know what to do to handle the stress, exercise. You will look back on it, when you are given an even a better job. I remember I went through years of overwhelming stress, well like 36 years of it, but it ALL paid off. Best of luck with it ALL!

I know the feeling, I was stuck in work hell for almost 2 years.. Push thru it and dont give them the satisfaction. And Im with you on the booze, I love to drink away my stress,but the gym is a much better idea..Ive cut happy hour outta my life now as well.. once every other week maybe.. feels good dont it? Come here to vent all you want

Work stress is extremely difficult! I echo what everyone else is saying! I've been through 20+ years and counting. Take each day as it comes; don't let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life. You are doing great already by heading to the gym vs. the bar. #winning!

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping really really hard that things will change before then, but I guess I'll have to deal with it. Its just so daunting.

Growth happens outside the comfort zone. Look for the changes you're supposed to get out of this. There are always benefits (although growth isn't usually comfortable...gotta give it that).
