Well today has been a really good day! I finally got my confidence back after plucking up courage to go swimming. I managed a whole 16 lengths in 35 minutes, not bad at all considering I haven't been for over a year. Really enjoyed it and hopefully will try to go twice next week. They also do aqua aerobics so I might even give that a try on one of the days. 😁🤗

Swimming is so good for you! I love it but it's such a trek to go I always find an excuse not to. I should force myself at lunchtime when I WFH

Thank you all, yes i think swimming is a good all round exercise and low impact. CSB57 you did make me smile.
I think i will book an aqua aerobic session Mrs M, if I don't like it, at least i can say i have tried it.

I love to swim but promised myself I wouldn't go again until I felt comfortable in my bikini (I don't like swimming costumes, too much like school). Last time I went I took part in a 5k challenge with colleagues and when I turned bright red and the official asked if I wanted someone else to finish my 1k for me, cheeky cow. I said I'd manage thanks as I turned this colour even when I was 7.5st!

Wow i can't remember ever being 7.5st and at least you finished the 5K.
You can get some really nice swimming costumes though. Even if i had a really flat tum tum, (which i don't) i still wouldn't wear a bikini and at 51, i would probably get some funny looks. I think my bikini days are over!
