I have to say that I am not really trying to lose weight as much as need to get my diabetes under control. My weight is not the reason for my diabetes...lovely genetics. I found out that I was a diabetic when I was 37. Initially I was able to control it by diet. Not anymore as the older I have become the less insulin my body is producing. New to the site and I am using the food diary and the carb counter to give me an indication of what I am eating throughout the day. Trying to watch the amounts of carbs that I eat. There are foods that I thought were good for me but.....not so much. I am in process of learning and with the sugar testing I am getting a better idea. Only one reading over 200 in this week so far. My A1c was 9.7 so have a little way to go. If I lose weight in the process, WAHOO!
