I DID IT! I went to the charity auction and DID NOT EAT DESSERT! I stood over the dessert display and looked them over VERY carefully. There was red velvet, chocolate, and my all time favorite LEMON BARS. I even bent down and gave them the "eyeball". Small pieces, but in the end walked away. I think part of it was I was still riding "the high" of that days awesome weigh in. Another thing was I hadn't seen some of the people for quite a while and was basking in the praise of "how wonderful" I looked. They couldn't believe it. Please don't take that as I have a big head or anything. Not saying I'm better than anyone else, I AM saying I look GREAT for ME. Several said "you look so healthy now". This kind of talk WILL keep a person away from dessert, lol!
Now just need to get thru Sunday Chinese brunch....

Way to go!! Being able to resist those temptations is a great feeling! It's like you won at life (well, at least that's how I feel, lol) 😃 And those compliments... Just further encouragement to keep it up!

It WAS a great feeling. I noticed I put sunday brunch, I meant BUFFET. That's a whole different ballgame!!!

RC, i know what you mean about not eating something...the other day at work, Firehouse Subs brought in subs, chips, cookies, and tea. the only things i ate was a small portion of the sub without the bread and one pickle spear. i drank my water as i ate. last night when i ate the coconut bar from atkins that was the first sweet thing i have had in a long time and it was so good but not good enough to make me eat another for a while.

congratulations! that is wonderful indeed! As you won over the lemon bar's temptation, you got a way bigger satisfaction by those nice compliments. It was worth it. An inspiration for all of us! Keep up the good job!

I make the best lemon bars and my husband loves them. I usually put them into the freezer after making them because I think I could eat half a pan of them. Chips are my poison unfortunately. I could eat 3/4 of a sack of chips before I realize what I've done. It's a good feeling knowing you can say "no" because you know that's the right thing to do and it's better for you in the long run.
