flaxseed's Journal, 19 November 2009

Weight up this morning but I'm not recording it. I'm assuming its stress related as so far I've been on track with my eating. Ollie was delivered to the vets and then I went to the shops to get him a couple of treats for later. I battled past the bread, cakes and chocolate and even picked a couple of things up and put them back again. Its a good thing there's nothing I fancy at home or it would have been down my throat by now. I'm telling myself that eating won't make me any less anxious, won't affect the outcome or even make me feel any better. In fact it will probably make me feel worse as I'll have guilt to add. Knowing something and doing it is entirely different!

Weather today is foul. The raindrops are running across the windows instead of top to bottom because of the winds. The water in the river is brown and brackish as it comes pouring down from the hills and the river has breached its banks in several places. We are fortunate that the river is low down here so no houses get flooded, its just the farmers that have to move their animals to higher ground as fields flood. The rain seems to be easing a bit as the morning progresses but the winds are still bad. Its hard to walk upright and an umbrella is useless. Roll on the shortest day. I usually like winter with the sharp crisp days and even a little snow, but this is just wet, dripping and murky.

No 2 daughter is very excited as she has finally decided to have another dog and is thinking of a Labradoodle. She's off to look at Mum and Dad this weekend and finally make up her mind. Not too sure of her choice, but still.

I've had a letter to go for my H1N1 jab. In the UK you get a letter if you are considered at risk. Wasn't thinking I needed it but I've decided that if they think I need it then I'll have it.

Hope everyone has a positive healthy day

Keeping positive thoughts for Ollie!!! You are so right about stress and "knowing" something vs. actually being able to do it!! I hear labradoodle's are good dogs. I'm not entirely in favor of the H1N1 vaccine ... but that's me ... I just talked to a family who got all their children the vaccine and their 5 year old immediately came down with the flu ... 103 temperature. I'd rather run the risk of contracting it the old fashioned way!! LOL!! Hang in their with the gloomy weather ... and the health related stress of animals and humans in your family. Take care my friend ... and you are doing a FINE job ... quite admirable ... keep it up!!!!
